InstaFriday ~ A Sneak Peek at Our Week

We're back from the beach and I still haven't made time to share a proper post on Disney, so who knows when I'll get around to sharing all the fun we had at the beach this summer. Counter tops are in, faucets are in {mostly}, bedroom carpet is in {finally}. It's been a busy, messy week around here, so I am loving this little look back at life at the beach...

One of our favorite things to do at the beach {there are so many} is to take evening golf cart rides. On this particular night the ocean breeze and setting sun lulled Mallory to sleep in no time!

Have you read The Language of Flowers? I devoured it at the beach ~ I loved every word of it and highly recommend it.
On our last night we took a walk on the beach and what did we see but a rainbow over the ocean ~ so pretty!
The girls and I have been enjoying trips our trips to the library this summer. Here's my lineup for the next three weeks...
Sweet Frog opened while we were at the beach, so after going to see Monster's University today, the girls and I had our first chance to stop in for the yummiest frozen yogurt. I can see this becoming an addiction!

We hope you've had a great week, as well!

Instafriday ~ A Peek at Our Week

Another week is quickly coming to an end, and even though we're at the beach this week through Sunday and there's still plenty of summer fun to be had, I can't help that I've already begun the back to school count down. To help me forget August is right around the corner, here are a few Instagram snaps from our week…

Before leaving for the beach, we celebrated Connor's birthday by visiting the playground for a while before going to get some frozen yogurt at Yohut. We're excited to get home from the beach for one reason ~ Sweet Frog opened up near us just this week. We've been waiting for what seems like forever. I see A LOT of frozen yogurt in our future.
This was a quick pic from our first night at the beach…

After her first full day of sand and sun Anna Claire was wiped out! There's nothing like a nice nap after a fun day at the beach. What I wouldn't give…

Mallory has been loving riding the waves on her new boogie board. She's already a pro. Anna Claire is a bit less interested and has more fun just floating along wearing her inflatable ring. The waves have been great for just hanging out in the water.

An impromptu tea party on the beach…

And Anna Claire has been getting creative designing mermaids out of sea shells on the sand. Can you "see" her mermaid?

We had a brief rain shower yesterday so we spent that time browsing the gift shops.  Mallory tripped and fell on the sidewalk hurting her knee, but a stop in the candy shop made things all better.

Gotta have a picture of the girls names written in the sand to commemorate the week…

Last night we took a long walk on the beach. It was so nice I could have walked for miles.

It looks like our last few days could be a washout with rain expected today and tomorrow. Hopefully we'll have a little sun tomorrow allowing us to play on the beach one more day before heading home Sunday…in the meantime, I was able to get a little reading done today.
Speaking of home…our new countertops, sinks, and faucets were installed today. I cannot wait to get home and see everything in person!
Hope you all are having a great week!

Ice Cream, Disney Princesses, and the Beach

We have definitely been keeping busy this spring break...

Monday Anna Claire and Mallory were rewarded with ice cream after an afternoon of shopping for counter tops, sinks, flooring, and kitchen appliances {my kind of shopping!}

Anyone in the middle of kitchen upgrades or thinking about it? I'd love to hear your tips!!!

Tuesday we went to The Princess of Tides for tea time and story telling with Cinderella and Snow White...so cute!
Thanks for the tip, Cheryl. The girls loved seeing Whitney.
Today we went to the beach with the Lopez crew...five kids and two crazy mommas in one car. That's right, I said b-e-a-c-h. And it was COLD. Not sure what we were thinking! The kids played in the freezing cold water for an hour before they had had enough. Crazy.

Too cold to even look up at the camera:
Since we weren't at the beach very long, we headed over to the playground under the Ravenel Bridge. So nice; the kids loved it...even though it was still cold.
So spring break is half way over and we've got the Flowertown Festival still to come...but there's rain in the forecast for tomorrow and Friday...I hope it doesn't hang around too long!

Crabby Chic

In my other life, the one where I own a beach house, it will look exactly like the house we stayed in last week. The decor was absolutely adorable. Walter would never let me decorate our house this way, so I took some pictures the day we left so I can swoon over them forever. If we could, we'd rent this house again next year; however, it's for sale so it's not currently being rented for next year...will you buy it for me instead?

I could have spent hours taking pictures of all the little details, art work, and nick~nacks. All the couches and chairs were slip~covered in the cutest fabrics, and don't even get me started on the girls' room...those hand~painted beds and the tea pot lamp on the bedside table...the pic up above doesn't do it justice.
Are you sure you don't want to buy it for me?...the house, not the lamp. Though I'd take the lamp as a consolation.

Sandy Toes and Salty Kisses

We're back from our fourth annual beach week with just a few of the five gazillion pics to share. We had a great week with beautiful weather and perfect low tides. We built sand castles, collected sea shells, spotted porpoises, jumped waves, splashed in the water, flew kites, took long golf cart rides, ate a lot of ice cream, and had a fabulous week!

Anna Claire and Mallory sure do love the beach...and each other...most of the time!

This is Anna Claire pretending to be Ariel washed ashore.

Building sand castles with the cousins.

Mallory finally got to fly a kite. Aunt Pam brought Owen over for a few days and he came with his Spider-man kite. Mallory could not get enough.

We planned each day to hit low tide just right so the girls could play in the tide pools and the waves weren't too big.

Riding the waves.

Ice cream cones on the back porch each night before bed. It must be vacation; I would never allow this to happen otherwise.

Breakfast.

Anna Claire got a huge splinter in her toe from back porch. She was barefoot. And doing ballet. She wailed for what seemed like hours, slept with the splinter, then finally let me yank it out the next morning. The "wood fairy" left her a dollar under her pillow {thanks Aunt Pam}.

Drama of the week.

Playing on the beach is hard work. Anna Claire and Mallory wanted so badly to nap each afternoon and keeping them awake until bedtime was nearly impossible.

Our farewell pic...until next year.
