Sunshine Day

Do you remember that song from The Brady Bunch? I used to sing it to the girls when they were babies. I wanted to sing it all day today. The sun finally came out today and it DID NOT rain. I think it's been a month since I've seen sunshine.

The weekend was a total washout ~ again. More riding bikes in the garage...in p.j.s...

We just got the new American Girl catalog in the mail. We don't currently "do" American Girl dolls, but for the first time, both Anna Claire and Mallory have taken a huge interest in the catalog. This is Anna Claire's attempt at setting up one of the vignettes from the catalog ~ camping, I think. She is so funny, and her imagination amazes me daily!
Do your girls have America Girl Dolls? What age did you start? Did you begin with a bitty baby or go all~in from the start? We've got a milestone birthday coming up...I need some advice! {Thanks Jenn and Robin for already weighing in.}

Rain is back tomorrow...I think we're going to float away!

Another Rained~Out Saturday

Anna Claire and Mallory are riding bikes while singing "The Wheels on the Bike..." in their pj's...in the garage.
We've had rain for two Satruday's in a row, so we had to get a little creative. After exhausting themselves riding bicycles around and around and around, the girls and I cuddled up in bed and all three of us took a nap. I can't remember the last time I got to take a nap on a rainy Saturday afternoon; it was too short but I loved every minute of it! After being cooped up all day, we got out the house for a little while and went to Wasabi for dinner to celebrate Aunt Michelle's birthday! YUM!!

Happy Birthday, 'chelle 'chelle!

Making Progress

Since the girls got their bicycles for their birthday in June, they really haven't shown too much interest in learning to ride them. We didn't start them on balance bikes or tricycles but went straight to training wheels and I think that's been the problem. Mallory's definitely put the most effort into practicing and today she finally got it! She was so proud of herself and we are, too!

side note: the girls do have helmets which we do make them wear, but Mallory's decision to hop on her bike this afternoon was spur~of~the~moment and if you know her, you know nothing is going to stop her when she decides she's going to do something. For all future bike rides it's safety first!
