End~of~the~Year Play School Picnic

Monday was such a BIG day!

After kindergarten testing and a quick outfit change, we headed over to Anna Claire and Mallory's end~of~the~year play school picnic...their official last day of play school.

It's so bittersweet ~ more so for mommy, I think. I pretty much cried all day Sunday, but I guess I got it out of my system because I did not cry at the picnic, and the girls had such a great time!

We sure will miss their wonderful teachers and wonderful school!

Oh, The Places You'll Go: Four~Year~Old Play School Graduation

Last Thursday night, Anna Claire and Mallory "graduated" from play school. I can't believe three wonderful years of play school have come to an end. The girls are ready for kindergarten, but I'm not sure if I am!
All the four year old classes performed a Dr. Seuss~themed program that was fabulous!
The girls received diplomas from their teacher and got big hugs for having such a good year!
After the singing and diploma~awarding were over, it was time for the art show. The girls shared the art portfolios they've worked on all year long. I've been dying to see these, and they are amazing! I've got to find some time to share some of their pieces with you. Not only are the girls' pieces so creative, but I can't believe all the work their amazing art teacher put into creating the portfolios.

Anna Claire and Mallory were so excited to share their work with us!

I can't believe play school is over. We've been so lucky to have had three wonderful years with lots of love and learning and such sweet teachers. I can't believe kindergarten is right around the corner for these two!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

Since this week is Teacher Appreciation Week, the girls and I put together a little something special yesterday afternoon, so they could make their special delivery at school today. They have two amazing teachers ~ we are so lucky!

I know...this idea is all over Pinterest, but I needed something easy!

We picked up some sunny yellow gerbera daisies on the way home yesterday and added a yellow grosgrain bow and a cute little gift tag to make them extra special. I made the note by merging some clip art from Pic Monkey and word art from Word {couldn't figure out how to curve text in Pic Monkey. Anyone?}. I printed the cards on card stock, trimmed the edges with pinking shears and taped them to cake pop sticks. I've gotta say I'm pretty proud of those little gift tags!

"Thanks for Helping Us Grow This Year!"

Good Friday Evening, Y'all

Spring Break has officially begun. Hooray!
Just wanted to share a few quick pics from Anna Claire and Mallory's Easter egg hunt at playschool yesterday. Guess what? It ended warming up a bit after all and turned into a really beautiful day. We all had a great time {Granny and Grandmom were there, too}, and I am so happy I got to sneak away from work for a little while to be there!

Little Chef

Granny is quickly becoming the play school seamstress. She made two of these chef hats for the "bakery center" in Anna Claire and Mallory's class. A few weeks ago she made slip covers for the reading center cushions. Wonder what project the girls' teacher will have her working on next?

We had a very busy weekend with three birthday parties, a baby shower and church. Other than that, nothing much is going on. Our laptop is in the shop...with my SD card inside, so I don't have any pictures to share other than what's on my phone...and that isn't much.

The pollen has already gotten to Anna Claire and me ~ scratchy throats and stuffy noses; I had hoped all the rain we had in February would have washed it away before it ever had a chance, but it doesn't seem that's the case. Zyrtec for everyone!

Mallory came home yesterday and told me she was picked for line leader..."the bestest job in the whole world!" she proudly proclaimed grinning ear to ear.

This weekend promises to be low~key. We are looking forward to NO RAIN and warmer temps...finally!!

...is it really only Tuesday?

Dad's Day at Playschool

Yesterday was Dad's Day at playschool, and it sounds like Anna Claire, Mallory, and Daddy had a great morning eating donuts, drinking juice, and playing on the playground. I'm so jealous.

Back to School

Anna Claire and Mallory were back to school today. It was cold and rainy but that didn't put a damper on their excitement to meet their new teacher. I couldn't catch up with them this morning. SO HAPPY they love school...and their new teacher!

Weekend Visitor

Mat Man finally came home from playschool with Mallory this weekend. She was sooo excited! She played with Mat Man all weekend sharing her Halloween candy, introducing him to friends,...
...and playing on the playground. We tried a new playground this weekend...the one where the old Doty Field used to be. Very nice and very clean, but not enough variety in toys for the girls to play on, so we headed over to our tried and true.

My new favorite pics of Mallory and Anna Claire...

Mat Man even went shopping with us Sunday. Kohl's, Target, and the outlets. Anna Claire and Mallory shopped with me for four hours and scored big with new school shoes, pajamas, and dresses and pants from Gymboree. We even got a few Christmas gifts crossed off our list!

Fire Department Field Trip

Today was Anna Claire and Mallory's first field trip of this school year ~ the fire department! I wish I could have gone, but there was no way to get out of work today.
I've already taken a half~day so I can go to the pumpkin patch with them in two weeks. Can't wait! I'm thinking about letting them ride on the bus with the other children. Yikes! I wouldn't let them ride the bus today; Granny drove them instead, and Mallory was heart broken.

Meet Mat Man

This past weekend Mat Man came home from school with Anna Claire. "Who is Mat Man?" you ask. Well, he's the little fella that's helping the girls learn to write {handwriting without tears}.

We first met him last year in 3~year~old playschool when the girls began learning to write their letters, and he's back again. This year, each child in the class gets to bring Mat Man home, take some pictures doing fun things with him, write a little story {with help from Mommy and Daddy}, then return everything to school to publish and present to the class. Yay!!

Anna Claire's teacher actually called to tell me how excited she {Anna Claire} became when her name was pulled out of the basket tobring Mat Man home!

Here are a few shots of our weekend with Mat Man:
