An "Incident"

That's what Walter called it. While I was at Publix, Cody knocked down Anna Claire while they both tried to get through the porch door. Apparently she landed face~first on the concrete. I wouldn't be surprised if she had Pooh in one hand and Piglet in the other ~ you know she's got to protect those lovies!

I'd like to say it looks worse in the picture than in real life, but that wouldn't be true...
Walter said there was only a little blood and she didn't cry for very long. Her little nose and forehead look awful, but she seems just fine.

First Shiner

This morning Mallory woke up with a swollen, black eye. She didn't hurt herself playing yesterday evening as far as we know. We wondered if she could have fallen in the crib last night even though we never heard her cry out. What is probably most likely is that this is a delayed result of the fall we took Monday afternoon. Poor baby; now I feel even worse.

Furlough

Yesterday was our first of three furlough days, which means I did not get paid, so my big plan this long weekend was to not spend any money. I was doing great, and then yesterday my mom called to say the Pink Crocodile was having a huge clearance sale on holiday and winter clothes. She came over and fed the girls lunch so I could run up there and see what they had. I got the girls three dresses (six total). A white candy-cane smocked bishop for next Christmas, a red corduroy dress with buttons down the front that can be worn as a coat or dress and can be holiday or not, and a cute school bus-smocked bishop for the fall. What a deal, too. So much for saving $$$!
Switching topics (but stay with me)...

This is the girls' doll house (a Christmas present from Connor and Dylan) which they love playing with, especially Mallory. After lunch yesterday and before my mom left, I picked up Mallory out of the chair in the living room, stepped backwards away from the chair, tripped over the doll house, and fell (hard). I was holding Mallory on my hip with one arm, and as I fell she toppled forward out of my arms and hit the floor with her forehead. I think I nearly gave my mom a heart attack because I screamed as soon as I realized I was going down. Poor Mallory burst into tears and I didn't know if she was hurt or scared. Thank goodness my mom was there because she was able to scoop up Mallory and check her out while I was flat on my back on the floor. Turns out she has a little rug burn on her forehead but is otherwise just fine. Me? My whole body aches today.

Random Pictures

I haven't posted pictures in a few days because I am having camera trouble. Here are a few I was able to pull off.

These are the girls poor "little" thighs after their shots Thursday. Anna Claire's chunky little thighs - I count three rolls!

It's hard to count the rolls on Mallory from this angle. I promise, she has four!

Mommy, there are ladybugs on our feet!
This is the closest I've come to getting a shot of both girls smiling...and it's really not that close. I promise they were smiling when my finger pressed the button. I've got to get a camera with a faster shutter speed.

Shots for Mommy and Babies

All of my fertility injections were subcutaneous, so were my heparin injections - didn't hurt one bit. Today I had my flu shot which was intramuscular and it hurt - a lot. I can hardly lift my right arm it's so sore - and I'm glad I had the nurse give me the shot in my right arm. Though I am right handed, I carry and hold the babies with my left arm - imagine if that was the arm hurting now.

So, I am reminded how bad an intramuscular shot can hurt. And why is that really important right now? The girls get their four month shots tomorrow. I only had one shot today...I can't even think of the pain my poor babies will feel tomorrow. :(

Ouch! I Did It Again!

I snipped the tip of Anna Claire's finger for the second time today (the second time!!) as I was trimming her nails. This time it was totally my fault. She was sleeping so soundly, not moving at all. As a matter of fact, she didn't even flinch as I snipped, but I know it hurts; there's blood.

Poor baby. Bad mommy.

*Clarification*
I didn't mean "the second time today," but for the second time, the first being several weeks ago. Misplaced modifiers - I should know better; I'm a English teacher!
