Upper respiratory infections had us feeling icky most of last week, but Anna Claire and Mallory thankfully started feeling more like themselves Saturday. Sick little ones is NO fun, but being a sick mommy having to take care of sick little ones really stinks!
It was good to see the girls feeling well enough to play a game of twister Saturday afternoon ~ hilarious!!

Little Chef
Granny is quickly becoming the play school seamstress. She made two of these chef hats for the "bakery center" in Anna Claire and Mallory's class. A few weeks ago she made slip covers for the reading center cushions. Wonder what project the girls' teacher will have her working on next?
We had a very busy weekend with three birthday parties, a baby shower and church. Other than that, nothing much is going on. Our laptop is in the shop...with my SD card inside, so I don't have any pictures to share other than what's on my phone...and that isn't much.
The pollen has already gotten to Anna Claire and me ~ scratchy throats and stuffy noses; I had hoped all the rain we had in February would have washed it away before it ever had a chance, but it doesn't seem that's the case. Zyrtec for everyone!
Mallory came home yesterday and told me she was picked for line leader..."the bestest job in the whole world!" she proudly proclaimed grinning ear to ear.
This weekend promises to be low~key. We are looking forward to NO RAIN and warmer temps...finally!!
...is it really only Tuesday?

Happy Valentine's Day...a little late
Anna Claire and Walter were under the weather last week...and then there was the weather ~ rain, rain, and more rain, so we got a little behind on our Valentine's Day festivities. Things didn't get pulled together 100%, but we made do. We did a little decorating around the house, finally got Valentine's for their classmates finished {commercialism one out this year ~ the girls wanted Merida Valentines for the girls and Transformers for the boys}, made cookies Sunday, and I finished the girls' teacher~gifts Monday night. Here's a little peek at our week...
Triple chocolate cookies with no eggs...safe to lick the beaters, but I should have know they wouldn't be the best cookies I've ever eaten. Mallory does not discriminate, though. BTW, those aren't the cookies we made on her plate; they're Ritz with hotella {that's Mallory and Anna Claire's name for nutella. Before you ask, I have no idea}.
Love the Target $1 section for the cutest Valentine's surprises...and new Crocs {NOT from the Target $1 section}.
Ginormous {yes, they both use this "word"} ink pens were their favorite!
We went to a unicorn themed birthday party Saturday where everyone got handmade unicorn horns {wheels turning}. The party coincided with the new My Little Pony episode where Twilight becomes a princess ~ an alicorn which if you must know is a cross between a unicorn and a pegasus. So, Anna Claire donned her Fluttershy Halloween costume, Cinderella tiara, and new unicorn horn so she could pretend to be Princess Twilight Sparkle. Her imagination never ceases to amaze me!
And I'm on year three of giving the girls' teachers the same gift...because they're easy and cute. The best part this year is the girls were able to share the knock~knock joke with their teachers...
You know you want to laugh!

Who's there?
Ah~choo!
Ah~choo who?
Ah~choose you to be my valnetine!
You know you want to laugh!
So, that was pretty much our week in a nutshell. I'm off to TN for work later today, but will be right back tomorrow which will hopefully make this short work week feel even shorter.
Happy belated Valentine's Day, everyone!

Tangled
This is not something a haircut will help {unless we chop it off and that it not happening}. Most mornings we have tears trying to untangle the matted knots. We've tried spray detanglers, and I just ordered this brush. Maybe we should try sleeping in braids?

No Sleeping in This Saturday
Anna Claire and Mallory got hair cuts early Satruday morning {last 8am hair appointment I'll ever schedule}.
She was so excited about her curls. She kept saying over and over how beautiful her hair was.Mallory wanted her hair kept straight. I think she just wanted to get out of the shop asap because I promised them McDonlad's for breakfast.
All she wanted was a plain biscuit, but it made up for having to get hair cuts at the break of dawn!

My Wee Lass
It's know around these parts that the girls have a bit of Scottish blood in them...on their Daddy's side. It's no wonder then, that they are both fascinated with Merida. Anna Claire is the Queen of Dress Up, so she was thrilled to get a new Merida wig from Grandmom {Mallory has yet to put hers on, but I'm workin' on it}.
Now her hair matches that fiery attitude she has sometimes! {no, not Anna Claire! ~ I know that's what some of you are thinking!}
