Presents!

Anna Claire and Mallory's morning began with Walter and I singing them "Happy Birthday" before they were even out of their cribs. Mallory thought it was a hoot and danced along with our singing; Anna Claire was not so sure. Since the girl's birthday is today, but their party isn't until Saturday, we let them open their "big" gifts this morning: a ladybug sandbox, a ride-on toy train, and a tunnel! Pictures of the sandbox will have to come later. It was a bit too damp outside to play in the sand this morning.

Tunnel Vision

Anna Claire wanted nothing at all to do with the tunnel. I think with more time, she will warm up to it, especially after she sees Mallory crawl through a few more times. After careful inspection, Mallory's curiosity (and her general lack of fear) got the best of her. She couldn't get enough of the tunnel. She would crawl through, get to the end, turn around, and crawl back in the other direction - over and over and over again.
Choo-Choo

Both girls love their new Leap Frog See and Learn Train. Actually, they would cry when we made them take turns. As a matter of fact, Mallory even had a little temper tantrum when we made her get off to go to Granny and Papa's house.

Mallory would have pushed Anna Claire all over the house this morning if we'd let her.
Anna Claire wasn't so sure about sharing her ride with her sister.
Aren't their "Birthday Girl" T-shirts so cute? Thanks, Aunt Michelle.

We have many more exciting things planned for the girls today and especially Saturday. Stay tuned for more first birthday fun!

Hard to Believe

Anna Claire and Mallory turn one year old tomorrow. That is SO hard for me to believe. Since I didn't start blogging until the girls were about ten weeks old, I have some fun posts planned for tomorrow (think way back "When"sday).

Be sure to check in throughout the day.

Catching Up

That stubborn top tooth of Anna Claire's has finally cut through. She is slowly catching up to Mallory who is still holding steady with four teeth.

All Smiles

Poor Mallory had a rough afternoon, so I just had to post this sweet picture I took a few days ago showing that precious smile - which we didn't see very much of this evening.

Feel better soon hunny bunny.

Water Babies

Anna Claire and Mallory finally got to go swimming in the pool today! They've been in the baby pool, and they've splashed their feet from the top step of my parents' pool, but once the water finally got warm enough, we had a bunch of rainy weekends. Today was our first chance to go swimming and grill out by the pool.

Mallory couldn't have been happier. She was like a little fish kicking and splashing. This girl has no fear!Anna Claire, on the other hand, had to get used to the idea first. Once she did, she could not have been happier.

Playing in the pool made the girls hungry (I've never seen two babies eat so much) and tired (they were asleep before we could get home).
